Writing the critical prefaceHow do you begin?
Our previous discussion in Organizing Principle may have given you some clues how to put together a "Rationale" for your collection. You may have noticed some common thread in your creative pieces -- thematic similarities, recurring problems in your creative process, theoretical/critical queries -- that may provide you with some ideas.
Because you were thinking about something when you came up with a title for your collection, right? Because you were thinking about something when you wrote a particular piece, right? Because you can actually connect one realization to another, one insight to the next, one piece to the other pieces -- right? There you have it, then. Something to begin your preface with.
